Last weekend, on February 1st and 2nd, one of the first major sailing competitions of the year took place for the Europe Class racing team. It was the Port Masnou Trophy, a highly anticipated event for the entire Catalan Europe Class fleet. This regatta was the perfect opportunity to kick off the 2025 season.
Challenging Wind Conditions and Few Races
Although the competition took place in an ideal setting for sailing, the weather conditions were challenging. The wind was very light and variable, making it difficult to organize the race. Due to these conditions, it was not possible to complete all the scheduled races, and in the end, only two races could be completed.
Outstanding Results from Aina Artalejo and Sara Ayats

Aina Artalejo, with an impressive performance in this regatta, was crowned absolute U18 champion and secured 5th place overall. Meanwhile, Sara Ayats also delivered a strong performance, finishing 13th overall and taking 2nd place in the U20 category.
The Port Masnou Trophy
The Port Masnou Trophy is held every year in the town of El Masnou and serves as a benchmark for assessing the form and performance of all participants at the beginning of the season. The results obtained in this competition are key to setting goals and preparing for future events. Sailors Aina Artalejo and Sara Ayats have started the 2025 season strong, and we have no doubt that great moments and successes await us in the near future.
