Environmental Initiatives
Our Eco-Port is a demonstration of the perfect harmony between the nautical and the natural environment. Among some of our most important initiatives we highlight:
Renewable Energy
Implementation of solar panels for sustainable energy self-sufficiency, reducing our carbon footprint by 160 tonnes and achieving an estimated annual saving of 40%.
Seawater Desalination
Production of fresh water by reverse osmosis, reducing the consumption of drinking water and promoting the port’s water self-sufficiency.
Electric Mobility
Provision of eleven charging stations for electric vehicles, promoting cleaner transport and facilitating the transition to electric vehicles.
Advanced Waste Management
Installation of multifunctional ecological islands that prevent the dispersion of waste and allow conscious recycling, thus protecting our environment.
Environmental Education
Raising awareness with initiatives ranging from the Thunnus, an artistic work that fights against plastic pollution, to the dissemination of good environmental practices among our community.
Blue Flag Programme
Annual renewal of the Blue Flag certification, awarded by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC). This recognition is awarded for compliance with specific criteria on environmental quality, services, accessibility, safety and public information.
Integrated Management System
Implementation of GIS for more efficient management of our quality, environmental and occupational health resources, improving project planning and our responsiveness.
Commitment to Sustainability
Collaboration with the Programme of voluntary agreements for the reduction of greenhouse gases of the Catalan Office for Climate Change.
