What is Wingfoil?
Wingfoil is a water sport that combines elements of windsurfing, kitesurfing, and surfing. It involves moving across the water using an inflatable wing, held by hand, and a board equipped with a hydrofoil beneath it. This setup allows the rider to lift off and glide smoothly above the water’s surface, creating a sensation similar to flying.
The practice of wingfoil has quickly gained popularity due to its versatility and accessibility. Unlike other board sports, wingfoil is easier to learn and less demanding in terms of wind conditions, making it an attractive option for both beginners and experienced water sports enthusiasts.

The basic equipment for practicing wingfoil includes:
- Wing: An inflatable wing that is held directly by hand and used to capture the wind and generate propulsion.
- Board with foil: A board similar to those used in surfing or paddle surfing, but equipped with a hydrofoil underneath, allowing the rider to lift above the water once a certain speed is reached.
Who is Eolis Kite?
Eolis Kite is a kitesurfing and paddle surfing school in L’Estartit, founded in 2008 by Delfo Pascual. It is located opposite the Medes Islands on the Costa Brava. As a result, it is situated within the Montgrí, Medes Islands, and Baix Ter Natural Park and has an exclusive area for the school as well as a rescue boat to ensure the safety of participants.
