On Tuesday, 12th November, the Phase 4B works commenced. This phase involves the complete refurbishment of the annex building (blocks 1A and 1B) adjacent to the main building, to house the new kitchen for the bar-restaurant, new changing rooms, a new laundry area, and the technical installations necessary for the functioning of this building. Additionally, this phase includes the construction of the structure and roof of a new module (block 3), which will align with the north façade of the main building and will complete the architectural ensemble of the inner dock.

To carry out the works, apart from the necessary interior interventions in the service building, it will also be necessary to demolish a significant part of the surface of the current plaza. This serves a dual purpose: firstly, it will allow the installation of all the required services at the correct levels (wastewater outlets, drainage pits, siphonic chambers, electrical and gas inlets, etc.); secondly, it will enable the construction of the foundations and perimeter walls that will form the sanitary slab for this new closing block.

Moreover, the immediate adjacent area will also be urbanised, as was done in the previous phase (F4A) on the seaward side, to install new utility networks and ensure continuity with those completed in previous phases (F2 and F3). This will prepare the area for the final urbanisation of the parking zone and the construction of the riverside docks for the inner dock, which are the final works committed to the port authority under the new concession contract (F4D | November 2026-June 2027).
Before this final phase, it will be necessary to complete the refurbishment of the social building and the new block that completes the ensemble (F4C | November 2025-June 2026).
Phase 4B is expected to continue until June 2025, with the estimated cost of the works, including the new kitchen equipment, amounting to approximately €550,000.
