On May 9th and 10th, we attended the XX Technical Conference of the Ports of Catalonia, a reference event organized by ACPET. This year’s edition was particularly relevant as it was the Port of Tarragona that assumed the role of host and gave the meeting a particularly significant dimension.

The opening ceremony of these conferences was presided over by prominent figures from the port and municipal sphere, among whom were Albert Bertran, President of Ports de Catalunya-ACPET; Toni Zaforteza, President of OCIBAR-Port Tarraco; Saúl Jarrete Puig, President of the Port Authority of Tarragona; and Rubén Viñuales, Mayor of Tarragona. Presentations and roundtable discussions on the future of the nautical industry
During the two days of the XX Technical Conference of the Ports of Catalonia, several presentations and roundtable discussions were held addressing crucial topics for the future of the nautical industry.
This is where our Director, Eugeni Figa, participated in the roundtable discussion “Desalination, a tool to combat drought”.
Among other notable topics were “90 days to the 37th America’s Cup“, which provided an insider’s view of one of the sector’s most important events; “The Situation of Recreational Boating”, which analyzed the current state and future prospects of this segment; “Concession Extensions”, a topic of great administrative and legal relevance; and “Navigating towards a sustainable future by promoting renewable energy in our ports”.

These conferences provided a space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among professionals in the sector, serving as a platform to drive initiatives that contribute to the modernization and sustainability of Catalan ports.
In a context marked by growing environmental awareness and the need to adapt to the challenges of climate change, events like these have become even more relevant, providing a space for reflection and joint action towards a future that is more prosperous and environmentally friendly.
